Bruce King is a member of the Oneida Nation, one of the five nations of the Iroquois confederacy-Hodenausaunee and comes from the Oneida reservation located near Green Bay, Wisconsin.

King's artistic career has spanned more than 36 years, exhibiting in the U.S, Canada, Germany and Japan and profiled in collections with I.A.I.A, NACLA and Six Nations Mohawk Museum. His comprehensive education from; The University of Illinois, Institute of American Indian Art and Native American Educational studies, as well as being an established; musician, theatre artist and author, give depth to his work.

Contextually and thematically his expression is Native American Indian, typified by French impressionist and post impressionist application and use of mediums, a union which established King as a protagonist in the transition of the perceptions of American Indian Art.
